Your Favorite Skate Company as a Car

In this world of branding, the skate products and companies we see on the daily tend to conjure images in our heads that go beyond just some dude on a board. Each one is an aura of personality and grandeur of sometimes mythical proportions. But, when you boil it all down and ask yourself, “What kind of car would my favorite company be?” you see it all from an entirely different perspective.

Antihero
A growling, exhaust-spewing Chester-the-molester van, with no windows, stacks of Nietzsche inside and either roots reggae or punk on constant rotation.

Alien Workshop
A concept car that looks like a spaceship and blares Dino Jr. all day.

Cliché
Le Car

Plan B
A Cadillac Escalade on diamond-plated rims, with TVs in all the head rests, a workout machine in the back and an XBOX that only lets you play THPS on Sheckler.

Real
Oddly, all I can think of for this one is a normal old white tour van with a shell on top and Mic-E Reyes inside.

I Path
A Volkswagen bus with hemp upholstery, hydroponics growing lights in the back and lots of dreads blowing in the wind.

Slave
A 1970s Nova with fast food litter in the back seat, a VISTA sticker on the bumper and some heavy nuggets blaring on a loop

Emerica
A Harley (obviously)

Es
A technically advanced, lighter than light BMW crotch rocket

Hubba
A limo full of scantily clad butterfaces.

Vans Shoes
A 1953 wood-paneled Chevy suburban with a surfboard and a skateboard hanging out the back.

Shorty’s
The mere shell of a car

Darkstar
A tricked out Honda drifter with neon lights underneath and a wing-sized spoiler

Element
A Toyota Prius with a Heartagram hood ornament, packed clown-car style with a shit load of European, Australian and American skaters listening to spoken word poetry about nature

KREW Clothing
A black 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu with a big Krew tag on the hood and an amalgam of interior upholstery from hip hop Gucci Krew print to hair metal spray paint stencils. The windows are lined with lavish gold picture frames and there’s a set of DJ turntables in the trunk.

Birdhouse
A gigantic tour bus that loops trick tips on the interior TVs and pulls around trailers full of gapped vert ramps and bar extensions

Think Skateboards
A Toyota Corolla with one snap-on Spiderman spinner rim.

If you’re bored on the way to a sesh, think up a few with your friends and remember that the great part about skating is you can ride in any car you want and you’re still down.
